The research of Professor Clare Graves was and continues to be truly ground-breaking in describing the different forms of human value systems, their relationships to each other, and how they evolve over time and under specific conditions. It continues to this day to be an essential model and framework for understanding the complexity of human worldview dynamics underpinning much of the 'wicked issues' confronting organisations, governments and communities. 

Gravesian Theory has been incorporated into the thinking of many influential frameworks and methodologies including Ken Wilber’s Integral Model and, most notably, Don Beck and Chris Cowan's commercialised version known as Spiral Dynamics.

And yet, for many transformational change agents who have been exposed to Graves' work in one form or another, a common question often arises...
